I am not entirely sure whether I really appreciate the "Survival of the Fittest" thesis applied to Christianity, but J John is not the first to argue for it. Indeed, there are passages in Scripture arguing along the lines (Malachi comes to mind and the "launderer's soap"....Revelation and the argument against "lukewarm faith"....and quite a few more). Nonetheless, in general (and not with reference to J John particularly) I am hesitant to see people raise themselves up into the position of the judge of that process. In any case, one thing that I can only agree with is J John's assessment: "It's not going to be boring!" ;-)
