In the light of the release of the pastoral letter by Pope Benedict XVI later on today with regards to the recent abuse scandal in the Catholic Church in Ireland (and which will be read against the other recent scandals in that matter as well), I am wondering how many people will not listen to the "read it for yourselves, with an open heart and in a spirit of faith," - because I have a feeling of fear that no matter what he is going to say - some people will a) not read it but rely on the media telling them what it did/ did not say, b) as a consequence, together with the media, try to poke holes into it wheresoever they can force them in there, and c) absolutely disregard anything constructive he has to say... It kind of makes me sad...
